Welcome to the Office of Clinical Training
the office of clinical training (oct) is responsible for the administration of student practicums for the ma in counseling psychology program.
the mission of the office of clinical training (oct) is twofold. we provide highly supervised training for graduate trainees and mft associates from both the jfku community and beyond who are seeking professional licensure as marriage and family therapists, licensed professional clinical counselors, or psychologists. in turn, we are able to provide high-quality, affordable, outpatient mental health and psycho-educational services to the community.
External Practicum Placements
威廉希尔世界杯supervised experience in a practicum setting is a significant component of graduate education. practicum involves working directly with individuals, organizations, and communities. this kind of hands-on work promotes the integration of theoretical and experiential knowledge in practical work settings.
our clinical training coordinators guide and support students in identifying and securing external field placements in over 80 different clinical settings throughout the bay area (including contra costa, alameda and santa clara counties), where they receive training and supervision directly from the agency.
The specific requirements for Masters in Counseling Psychology Programs’ practicum placements are described in detail in our downloadable Practicum Handbook. Please note that specific requirements are subject to change.
